Don’t get lost in the detail (unless you want to)

The Vistogram® provides rich opportunities to drill below the surface and review details about a single activity, who is doing it, the progress and RAG status. In fact, whatever you are capturing within your existing project delivery software tools

Yes (see pricing).

Omnivisto hope very much that the Vistogram® will save customers money. We’ll be keen to collect any feedback on how the existing product or future enhancements support savings.

How can it save you money? Well, it will leverage your existing business intelligence investment and your existing data. It will make that data available to broader audiences more conveniently and more quickly than may currently be the case. It will also support mobile workloads, enabling teams who are on the road and need up-to-date data.
Within Power BI, there is a well-published threshold of 30K rows for visuals. This can be engineered around with a ‘fetch data on request’ capability which can be implemented. If you need support for more than 30K rows of data, let Omnivisto know and we will prioritise this work.
Cross-filtering is a capability within Power BI. If enabled, this enables interaction with Vistogram® to flow through into other visuals such as tables or slicers. This is supported for the Vistogram® custom visual and you can find instructions on how to configure this here.
Yes, we’ve done some pre-work and we can implement the Vistogram® custom visual in those platforms. Omnivisto need 5 prospects from Tableau (or 5 from Qliq) to justify this work so drop us a line to info@omnivisto.com and we will keep you informed of the timeline.

If you use another platform or want to think about including the Vistogram® in another software application – let us know. Omnivisto are keen to explore potential collaborations.
On the whole, no. The Vistogram® should need very little in the way of hand-over to end users.

If you build more sophisticated dashboards with specific features and functions then obviously, some introduction may be required. There is also the question of how much exposure stakeholders have in your organisation to Power BI.

Omnivisto have sought to make the implementation, set-up and publication of Vistograms as straight-forward as possible. We have also published a range of documentation intended to cover many settings.

Potentially however, we’ve overlooked something or there is something unexpected about your particular environment. If you are struggling – don’t hesitate to get in touch with the team and we’ll do our best to help.

Are you trying to publish data from software platforms that we haven’t covered in our documentation? Omnivisto would be keen to share knowledge and learning on this to document and publish for others.
Omnivisto is fantastic, easy to understand, easy to navigate bringing together information and data from a host of applications perfect for project planning of the day to day running

Some of the workloads the Vistogram® supports

    Digital PMO

Different teams in different countries using different tools? Set standards and pipeline that data directly into PowerBI for one (or more) views of everything. No need to switch everyone into the same tooling.

    Resource planning

Provide resource brokers with access to searchable and filtered Vistograms that show them what’s needed from their teams and when. These schedules will stay as up to date as the platforms they are connected to.

    Audit &
assurance

The Vistogram® can be a lasting record of what was done (as well as what is scheduled to be done). It is searchable and filterable in a way that many plans aren’t and can cover longer periods and larger data sets.

    Project Management

If you need to communicate plans to broad stakeholder communities then the Vistogram® is a refreshing alternative to slides and spreadsheets. It’s also built (and kept up to date) with data you’re already producing so it should be cheaper too.

    Stakeholder engagement

Not only are Vistograms more accessible to generalist audiences, they are more interactive and more insightful. They encourage curiosity and exploration. Vistograms can be enriched with other sources of data to provide the perspectives and viewpoints that matter to your audiences.

    Business intelligence

Need the right information in the right place at the right time? Bringing together (and maintaining) portfolio plans is time consuming and expensive. Set up your data pipelines and you will have an evergreen portfolio plan in a Vistogram® that is continually being updated directly from source data.

    Communication

Do you need to continually keep track of a shifting schedule of bookings or resources utilisation? Why not put the schedule in SharePoint and link it to a Vistogram® to provide the latest information to stakeholders.

    Benefits
management

Do you want to share a benefits realisation plan with stakeholders? Why not publish a Vistogram® with an up-to-date schedule of what business benefits are being realised and when? Enrich that with other data about sponsorship, business impact or customer benefits.

    Strategy
alignment

A Vistogram® is one of the ways to get sight of 100s of in-flight projects to check they are still a business priority.

    Portfolio
management

Is it a challenge to keep track of all your business projects? Add in one or more programmes of change and simply keeping it all in an intelligible and accessible format can be difficult. Keep it all at your fingertips and have the option to be mobile too with a Vistogram.

    Governance

Need to know what is going on? Need visibility of finance, risk or assurance dimensions? If you can see what’s happening and when then you are half way there. The Vistogram® is half the story. The data is the other half. Seamlessly explore and exploit both in PowerBI.

    Management
information

Whether it’s project management status reporting on tasks or insight into what teams are busy and when, perhaps you need to see when there are key dates in the business calendar. All of this (and more) can be designed into a PowerBI dashboard with the Vistogram® as the unifying anchor.

Be an early adopter and deliver the next generation project intelligence solution today.
